Horsford Pre-School provides a safe, secure and stimulating environment in which your child feels happy and can learn through play. To enhance the development and education of the children that are under statutory school age, we strive to include our parents in a community based Pre-School. We work within the EYFS framework which ensures excellent diversity and opportunity for all children and their families.

Our Sessions:

Pre-School runs every day offering a wide range of activities in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Scheme, to children between the ages of 2 and 4 years. The Pre-School opens from Monday to Friday, during term time only (following the Norfolk County Council academic year). We are open 9-3 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 9-12 Wednesday. Our sessions are 9-12 and 12-3, children aged 3 and above can attend all day. We offer an additional hour 12-1 for children attending the morning session for a small fee.

Special Needs & Disability:

We have a policy of non-discrimination. All children are welcome. Special needs assistance can be provided if deemed necessary by the Inclusion Worker. The high child/adult ratio enables us to provide individual attention for each child. This enables the children to progress at their own rates in all areas of development – this is the case for children with and without disabilities or learning difficulties.

We are experienced in working in close liaison with professionals across the range of special needs. If you would like to discuss the group’s ability to meet your own child’s special needs, please talk to Jemma Medlar the settings Special Needs & Disability Co-ordinator (SENDCO).

Transitions to big school:

In the run up to ‘Big School’ we offer Rising 5’s sessions to those children who will be leaving us at the end of the summer term. This will give the children a little insight into how school works, and will include time to eat their packed lunches together, one to one help with pencil control and name formation, small group activities and PE.

Fees, Invoicing and Payments:

Children are accepted into Pre-School from the age of 2 years until they start at infant School. We accept children in nappies and/or being toilet trained and we are happy to assist in this transition.

We are very pleased to provide all new starters with a new Pre-School t-shirt. Rest assured uniform is non-compulsory; however, we feel it gives the children a sense of belonging and a good way of protecting their own clothes from messy play! Please speak to the committee about ordering more, as all profit made goes into purchasing resources for the children.
